The Basics

LI Roofing Co. is a New York company operated by Tom Gallagher. We are based in Melville, NY. You can reach us by phone at (631) 507-3842 or by email at the contact address on our website.

We are a residential and commercial roofing contractor. We install and repair roofs on homes and businesses in Nassau and Suffolk counties. We do not sell products online and we do not operate any business that depends on collecting personal data.

This privacy policy applies to our website, the tools embedded in it, and any information you share with us by phone, email, text, or in person.

Information We Actually Collect

When you browse the site:

  • Your IP address (logged by our hosting provider for security)
  • Your approximate city and region (derived from IP, not precise)
  • The pages you visit and how long you stay
  • Your device type, browser, and operating system
  • The referring site

We do not use Google Analytics. We use a privacy-respecting analytics provider that does not set cookies and does not track you across sites.

When you contact us:

  • Your name, phone number, email address, and anything else you choose to tell us
  • The content of your message
  • Any photos or files you attach
  • The address of your property (if you are requesting an inspection)

When we do a job at your property:

  • Your full name and contact information
  • Your property address
  • Photos of your roof (for the quote, job file, and portfolio if you give permission)
  • Measurements, notes, and job specifications
  • Payment information (processed by our payment processor, not stored on our servers)
  • Any insurance, permit, or warranty paperwork related to your job

Information We Do Not Touch

  • We do not use Google Analytics or Meta Pixel or any ad tracking pixel
  • We do not buy or sell leads or data lists
  • We do not fingerprint your browser
  • We do not set third-party advertising cookies
  • We do not track you across the web after you leave our site
  • We do not follow you around with retargeting ads
  • We do not run SMS marketing without explicit consent
  • We do not share your information with anyone unless required by law or necessary to deliver the service you asked for

What We Do With It

  1. Quote and complete your job. If you give us your address, we use it to inspect your roof and do the work.
  2. Respond to your questions. If you email us, we reply. If you call, we call back.
  3. Follow up on leads. If you request an inspection, we may call or email you once or twice to schedule it. If you do not respond, we drop it.
  4. Pull permits. We need your name and address on the permit application.
  5. Process payment. Our payment processor handles card and bank data. We do not store card numbers.
  6. Honor warranties. We keep a job file for every customer so that years from now we still have your records.
  7. Run the business. Accounting, tax filings, crew scheduling.

Third Parties We Use

  • Hosting: Vercel (website infrastructure)
  • Email: Google Workspace (customer email)
  • Payment processing: Stripe (card and ACH processing)
  • Accounting: QuickBooks (customer billing records)
  • Permit filing: Town and village permit portals
  • Warranty registration: GAF, CertainTeed, Owens Corning (material warranty in your name)

We do not share your information with marketers, data brokers, or ad networks.

Retention

  • Site analytics: 90 days, then anonymized
  • Email correspondence: Life of business relationship plus 7 years for tax purposes
  • Customer job files: Life of the warranty (minimum 10 years) plus 7 years
  • Payment records: 7 years (IRS requirement)

If you ask us to delete your information and we are not legally required to keep it, we will delete it within 30 days.

What You Can Ask Us To Do

  1. Tell you what we have on file. Email us and we will send you everything, usually within 10 business days.
  2. Correct something wrong. Just tell us.
  3. Delete your information. We will delete anything we are not legally required to keep.
  4. Opt out of follow-up. Reply "stop" to any email or text.

What Cookies We Use

We use a small number of first-party cookies:

  • Session cookie: Keeps your session state. Expires when you close the tab.

Children Under 13

Our site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
